Good fencing is about more than a boundary
Fencing defines spaces, creates privacy, provides security and frames planting. A poorly installed fence — twisted posts, rails that aren't level, panels that catch the wind — is both an eyesore and an ongoing maintenance problem. Good fencing starts with posts set at the correct depth in the correct material: concrete spurs for soft ground, post mix for firm ground, metposts where digging is impractical. Everything else follows from that.
We install close-board fencing, featheredge, panel fencing, post and rail, trellis, picket, hit and miss, and bespoke timber structures including pergolas and arches. We use pressure-treated timber throughout and gravel boards at the base to extend the life of every installation. All work is priced and agreed in full before we start.
Landscaping consultation is £50 + VAT, deducted from the project cost if you proceed. We'll visit, measure up, discuss options and give you a written quote.

Close-Board and Featheredge Fencing
Close-board fencing is the most common and versatile garden fence type — strong, private and adaptable to any ground profile. Individual featheredge boards are fixed to arris rails, allowing the fence to follow slopes without the staggered gaps you get with panel fencing. We set posts at a minimum depth of 600mm — deeper in soft ground — and use concrete spurs or post mix depending on conditions. Capping rails are fitted to protect the tops of posts and rails.

Panel Fencing
Lap panel fencing is the budget-friendly option for straightforward gardens on level ground. We install panels in a range of styles — lap, tongue and groove, hit and miss — on concrete posts with gravel boards at the base. Gravel boards are essential: they keep the bottom of the panels off the ground and significantly extend the life of the fence. We fit them as standard on every panel fence we install.

Post and Rail Fencing
Post and rail is the traditional choice for rural boundaries, paddocks and countryside properties where a fence needs to read as part of the landscape rather than imposing on it. We install two-rail and three-rail post and rail in round or sawn timber, and can include stock netting or wire where the fence needs to contain animals or provide a stock-proof barrier. This style of fencing suits larger gardens, walled gardens and estate properties in the Worcestershire countryside.

Trellis and Decorative Fencing
Trellis adds height to existing fencing, creates privacy without blocking all light, and provides support for climbing plants. We install trellis as a fence topper on existing boundaries, as a free-standing structure on posts, or as a decorative screen for a particular area of the garden. Picket fencing is also available for front gardens and period properties where the style suits the house — available in a range of profiles from traditional pointed to more contemporary flat-top designs.

Gates and Access Structures
Gates should match the fence in style and material and be hung correctly on posts that are set to take the additional load of a swinging gate. We supply and hang timber gates in a range of sizes, ensuring the hinge posts are set deep enough and braced correctly. Side access gates, driveway gates and garden entrance gates can all be included as part of a fencing installation or as standalone work. We also install gate posts for clients supplying their own gates.

Fence Repair and Replacement
Storm damage, rotted posts and broken panels are common across Worcestershire gardens. We carry out fence repairs as well as full replacements — assessing whether a fence is worth repairing or whether replacement would be better value in the long run, and being honest about that advice rather than simply taking on work. Where only sections need replacing we match materials as closely as possible to maintain a consistent appearance.
